There are moments during our Peace Corps service when a feeling overwhelms us. It is as if time becomes slower and the world around you becomes clearer. It is an utterly surreal moment – “I am actually doing this. I am in Africa right now”. I am not positive that it happens to all volunteers, but these are some of the moments that made me realize I am doing exactly what I am called to do; I am supposed to be here.
These moments will vary from a serious nature to a little hiccup in my day. I hope that you will experience these moments little by little as you read each post. After all, I’m not in my cozy home anymore. This is Africa.
